Who we are
The Word in Context is operated by Steward of the King LLC. This page describes what we collect when you use thewordincontext.org.

What we collect
- Account: your email and a hashed password if you sign up.
- Access status: trial or subscription state, and membership IDs from our payment provider when you subscribe.
- Login email: a short-lived magic-link token if you request one.
- Study questions: text you send to the AI, including the landing-page preview question, so we can return a reply.
- Anonymous preview limits: a coarse IP record used only to cap free landing-page questions.
- Optional shares: verse or Q&A text you choose to publish as a share link.
We do not ask for a mailing address on this site, and this policy does not list one.
What stays on your device
- Chat history is stored in your browser (localStorage). It is not saved in our account database.
- Voice, theme, and reader preferences stay in your browser.
- Microphone audio for hands-free study is processed in the browser for that session. We do not keep a recording library of your conversations.
Payments
Paid trials and subscriptions are billed by Whop. Card and billing details go to Whop, not to us. See Whop’s own privacy terms for how they handle payment data.

- Whop — checkout and subscriptions
- xAI / Grok — AI study replies
- Resend — account email such as magic login links
- bible.helloao.org — public Bible text
- Our web host — to serve the site
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run ads on this site.
- We do not use your chats for advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
We use browser storage for your login token, chats, and settings. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your requests
Email hello@stewardoftheking.com to ask what we store for your account or to request deletion. You can also clear chats and local settings in your own browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
